DESCRIPTION:Tackle the Tar is a 5K obstacle course race held in Rocky Mount\, North Carolina\, hosted by the Rotary Club of Rocky Mount. There are 15+ obstacles along the course. There are heats for competitive runners\, as well as fun run heats. There is even a shorter course for kids to traverse. The annual event raises funds for local scholarships for students and\, to date\, has awarded over $600\,000 dollars in scholarship funds since its inception. This year\, the event will be held on May 17th\, 2025.
